The Better World Fund Gala shines at the 77th Cannes Film Festival

Amidst the splendor of the 77th Cannes Film Festival, the Better World Fund made its grand return from May 15th to 16th, delivering an extraordinary two-day gathering that fused the worlds of art, culture, and philanthropy for a positive cause aimed at making the world a better place for all.

At the heart of the festivities lay the Better World Fund gala dinner, held on May 15 at the opulent Carlton Cannes hotel. As part of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and China, this extraordinary evening, hosted by the Better World Fund and Bestway Healthcare Group under the patronage of MP Eric Alauzet, brought together eminent and inspiring figures from the worlds of cinema, philanthropy, politics, and more, all driven by the desire to drive awareness and positive impact worldwide. This year, the gala benefited the Lang Lang International Music Foundation and its noble program to provide underprivileged children with the transformative power of music education.

The event boasted an impressive lineup of distinguished guests and luminaries. Among them were the esteemed French actress Juliette Binoche, the First Lady of Iceland, Eliza Reid, and Mohamed Abou El Enein, Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives. The evening offered a star-studded lineup of musical performances, including world-renowned talents such as Chinese piano virtuoso and prodigy, Lang Lang, and French singer Joyce Jonathan, symbolizing the cultural harmony between France and China.

This year, Swiss luxury made an indelible mark on the event, with the presence of both Mourjjan, the renowned Swiss haute couture label, and the famed Swiss beauty brand L.RAPHAEL. Mourjjan graciously donated an exquisite couture dress from its FW24/25 “Ethereal” collection, which  tells a story of ethereal elegance, drawing from a palette dominated by rich blacks and luxurious fabrics such as lace, tulle, and silk. Roland G. Rahal, the creative genius behind Mourjjan, is the second internationally renowned designer to put his collection at the service of “Tags Against Crime,” which uses the medium of fashion to raise awareness for victims of sexualized violence. Similar to the Better World Fund, Mourjjan has always used his art—fashion—as a powerful tool to share meaningful stories and make a positive impact. Meanwhile  L.RAPHAEL, donated an ultra-exclusive wellbeing and anti-aging treatment package to the auction. Thanks to a winning mix of technologically advanced formulas, high-quality ingredients, and its Seven Foundations of Beauty, L.RAPHAEL has carved out a leading position in the global anti-aging movement, offering groundbreaking products that reinvigorate the senses and deliver long-lasting, visible results.
