Sailing Triumphs on the Water

The regatta was a testament to human spirit and sailing excellence on the water. The highlight of the event was the exhilarating performance of the TF35 foiling catamaran “Sails of Change 8,” skippered by Yann Guichard, which emerged victorious in the general classification. The monohull “K2,” helmed by Philippe de Weck and his sons Alexander and Micha, won the coveted Bol de Vermeil, ending the Hungarian “Raffica’s” four-year winning streak. In the Grand Surprises class, Bernard Borter clinched victory on compensated time, marking a significant win for the class since 2012. Marius and Thierry Lanz triumphed in the Surprises class, while David Bugnon took the top spot in the Psaros 33. Alexandre Schneiter and Kristoffer Jonsson’s small foiling catamaran “Flying Phantom” and Edouard Kessi’s vintage “Tiolu Ypso” showcased individual brilliance and innovative sailing. This year introduced the Bol de Carbone for foilers, awarded to “Sails of Change 8,” and the Bol de Basalte for Archimedean multihulls, won by Christian Wahl and his “Double You Team.” These new trophies symbolize the event’s commitment to celebrating both innovation and heritage in sailing. The water sparkled under the sails of these magnificent vessels, each telling a story of ambition and excellence..
